Jon T Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Hey. Has anyone else seen the new range of LED lighting from chauvet. They have tubes, cubes, spheres and even coasters with LED's. The tubes look great and they are priced at £179 inc VAT. Thinking of getting some. Anybody used any of the range yet? jon
olistockman Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Chauvet.....hmmmmmmm....All I will say is be wary...we've got some odd's and sods lying around...they do the job, but, like all things in this industry, you get what you pay for!
slim_mcslim Posted July 4, 2004 Posted July 4, 2004 They have tubes, cubes, spheres and even coasters with LED's. Most of the Chauvet LED range is not available in the UK, the last time I talked to the lead importer, he said that they where only interested in the tubes and the panels, he said the rest of the range didn't meet their high standards (e.g. they are ####) as for the tubes themselves, erm, I have played with the demo ones in the workshop, I am not overly sure what you would use them for, they have an element of decorative architectural use, but they don't really do much else, I was interested in using them inside a light box, but I don't feel that they are bright enough for that, they are certainly no thomas or pulsar pixel bank, however they are 1/15 of the price.
Guest Mattladkin Posted July 4, 2004 Posted July 4, 2004 From what I have been told the kit wont be available in the UK for 6 months and it will be a very limited range. As others have said be very wary - with chauvet products the low prices do reflect equipment quality!!! Some stuff is quite good value - their strobes are quite good and the blue cased range (name escapes me) is good for basic DJing but for theatre - no way!!!
