dom
I ve had a look at the Chromadeck panels, any other suggestions and who stocks the most?Answers on a postcard.
peter
My guess would be Richard Martin Lighting (RML), or Elstree Light and Power (ELP) - both specialise in TV lighting, and have large stocks of Chroma stuff. SLX have a few, but I think they're part of their Jesus Christ Super Star Set you can hire.
kalmatthew
I talked to Chroma at ABTT and they said that Litestructures had them.
MarcT
As I understand it, LiteStructures manufacture the aluminium cases for the ChromaDeck and Pulsar provide the electronics. They were used in a show I worked on last year. Great result, but I suspect they're expensive to hire. Try LiteStructures hire on 01977 659 850. timmath
lite structures are the only people who have quantities of them in hire stock. neither RML or ELP have decks - only panels regards Tim
Big Dave
As said above, Lite structures are the only people who have it and from what I remember (having used it on several events). they do not dry hire so you have to pay them to install it. But it is worth every penny if you have a decent LD who can make the most of it.
MartinT
LiteStructures do dry hire the units 01977659850 they're about £40 each depending on quantity and they have about 120 of them. I've used 80 of them at once and they're fab but take ages to lay and level
boac
A while ago, I guess before these Chromadeck units were available, I was involved in building a dancefloor which would do the same thing (almost). We used decking which had an opaque surface which let light through. Alistage IIRC. It was built with 1' legs and we laid out ChromaPanels on the floor underneath. The effect was a slightly more diffused light than you'd get with ChromaDeck but was spectacular nonetheless. I kept expecting John Travolta to appear and throw some Saturday Night Fever moves! ;) Just a thought, if you can't get hold of proper ChromaDeck... ChromaPanels are everywhere now and you could build your own alternative.
