Looks like an interesting Addition to the ETC Family.

Being a big fan and regular user of the Ion and Eos, could be quite a good "small" lighting desk

There is quite a good review on the Element from our US friends at controlbooth.com it also includes an interview with the ETC controls specialist and approximate list price in USD. It will be costed between the Smartfade ML and the Ion.

Looks like the replacement for the old Insight & Express desks. Should be interesting to have a play hands on demo at ABTT or PLASA.

Hmmm...300 series replacement anyone? This sounds perfect for our Studio theatre!

Do any of the ETC chaps know if this will be on show at Plasa Focus?

It looks nice, however it is strange that it lacks any encoders for moving lights, however whether you can use a track ball (as per the 300) instead remains to be seen, otherwise it wouldn't be particularly future proof seeing as how everyone uses moving stuff nowadays!

I think it is, I noticed it in the Plasa Focus Email I was sent.

To be fair, it's aimed at smaller places without huge amounts of moving lights etc... If you watch the video at Control Booth (Clicky) you can see how it can still be used for small amounts of automated kit. As the lady says, if you know you will (potentially) need substantial mover support, an Ion or EOS would be more ideal.

ETC is showcasing on its stand its newest range of fixtures, the LED-based Selador Series. Featuring the patented x7 Color System, the three Selador models produce a light and colour quality that conventional LED systems cannot duplicate. ETC will also be introducing Element lighting control desks, directed at smaller theatrical venues and schools that depend on single desk operators or volunteers. It is based on Eos software and is a replacement for the successful Express line of desks. Please visit ETC's stand for demonstrations of these and other products from the company's range of lighting, control and dimming products.

Have fun looking at the Element everyone :P

Interesting desk, and one that we might look at to replace our aging Express 125. Price will be the decider I suspect.
