LeroyOZ Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Hello everyone and a Happy Easter to you all.I would like to paint an LS 1200.Has anyone ever attempted this? What paint do they use?Any tips would be highly appreciated.
Paddy Dinsmore Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I would also be interested in peoples thoughts on the Nexo paint job. I love all my Nexo boxes but as a manufacturer I think they have one of the worst paint jobs. our PS15's are looking a bit tatty and would like to freshen them up, our S12's have only seen a few hires so far and already are showing a bit of wear. thank god all of our Alpha is carpeted. I Remember a mate from another hire company in ireland telling me he painted them with a crown eggshell paint and they came out as new.
csg Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 If you can afford it, and have the facility to spray, then Trimite do an excellent high build speaker box paint. The paint is not cheap, but the thinners are very expensive indeedOther than that, for a waterbased product designed for the job, then either aldcrofts or warnex produce water based acrylic emulsions which work well - the aldcrofts is uk produced and a fair bit cheaper than warnex. Both can be sprayed or rollered.
bruce Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 If you stick "trimite" in the forum search box (top right - not the google one), you'll find lots of useful advice about paint finishes and the best way to apply them.
