Louis sullivan NLS Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Hi I have got some minuette zoom profile but for some reason the rear lenses keep cracking but stilll works ok. any comments on minuette profiles, good or bad??? Also how much are they valued at on ebay with good or cracked lenses.
lightsandguitars Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 At a school I worked at recently they had bought several new Minuettes all of which had the rear lens crack. Apparently there was a bad batch of lenses which couldn't take the temperatures of the lantern. All of the lenes were replaced by CCT with new lenses that were up to spec! So I suggest contacting them first. If you still have cracked lenses and CCT won't replace them you can get replacements from them for a fee, I believe we paid around £20 for each, though I cannot remeber exactly.
robloxley Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Are they the condenser version or the standard zoom - have seen lots of broken condenser lenses.

vinntec Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I have worked standard Minuette zooms to death in many shows and never had any problems with cracked lenses (other than someone putting them in back to front after cleaning them!). This includes misuse from students and inexperienced operators so I would say there must be a fault with the lenses you have.Peter Vincent, UK
