LeroyOZ Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Has anyone ever attached those rubber feet to the bottom of LS 1200's?Or wheels even?
Rob_Beech Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Is there a particular application you need to do this for?
LeroyOZ Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Is there a particular application you need to do this for? The subs are quite slippery on carpet. Wheels for transporting them on my own.
dougjm Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I've attached wheels to LS1200s - on the "rear", same face as the connector panel.I got some standard flightcase castors, measured up, drilled the holes, hammered in the Tnuts and bolted them on. You have to take the driver out obviously and it's noisy hammering inside a sub so I suggest earplugs/defenders.As for the slippery on carpet problem why not use some high tack velcro pads - the hook side.
gyro_gearloose Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I'd recommend wheel boards over permanent castors. Loose castors + loud subs = annoying rattles!
Pyramid Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 hammered in the Tnuts and bolted them on. ....it's noisy hammering inside a sub so I suggest earplugs/defenders. I wouldn't bother hammering in t nuts, just pop the sleeve into the hole and the prongs will bite into the wood as the bolt is tightened. Probably no need to take driver out then, just vacuum the bits out :D Andy
dougjm Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 You still need to take the driver out unless you have an extra joint in your arm that I don't! :D I tend to hammer the Tnuts in as sometimes they don't bite and just chew the whole patch of wood up - you don't want to ruin the sub for the sake of 10min work if you know what I mean. The castors are fairly good quality and don't rattle but I did look at making wheel boards for the subs and the problem was how to attach them. I figured that by the time I'd worked out a good way of doing it plus bought and made all the bits to make this happen I would have been better just putting the wheels on and having the rest of the day off.
Peter F Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 The subs are quite slippery on carpet. Cheap rubber car mats are the simple solution. Cheers, Peter
