DRG Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I'm having problems rotating gobos on 1220 cmyr while using HogPC. They start rotating for a few secs then they just stop.I've tried using the gobo2 rotate function, and it moves them round, but they don't continue to move (if you see what I mean). My other lights have the rotate option in the beam looks palette.Any ideas?
peter Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 The rotate channel on Martin fixtures has two settings - the first indexes the gobos, the second rotates them. You have to select the particular gobo on the gobo select channel, the second time it comes around, and then the rotate channel should act as rotation instead of indexing. For more information, see the DMX tables at the back of the 1220 manual.
gareth Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I reckon Peter's on the right track - the rotating gobo wheels on Martin fixtures have two values for each position - one for indexing, one for continuous rotation. If you want continuous spinning, on a Hog you have to wind the Gobo2 encoder (middle one on the second Beam page for this particular fixture) anticlockwise from the Open position (you'll see the gobo names preceeded with >>). Then use your Gobo2<> encoder (right-hand one) to set the rotation speed/direction.
DRG Posted June 8, 2004 Author Posted June 8, 2004 Thanks guys, didn't occur to me to turn the wheel anti-clockwise....
