nick_brown
I have a robe 250xt which works fine, however there is a lot of rocking movement between the base unit and the arms. I have opened it up and cannot see any visible signs of damage, and the mover does still operate perfectly fine. Any sugestions?? ideas?? experience?? Any help would be appreciated! Ben
Hi Nick Can you be a bit more specific about this "rocking"? Do you mean that the bearing where the yoke meets the base is loose or just that there is some movement in the unit in another way? Ben

Thanks Hi Nick, I have had this problem with the Robe 250XT before. There are some screws that work themselves loose within the pan module. Unfortunately these cannot be accessed without stripping the pan module down. Where abouts are you based? If I can be of any assistance on the phone please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Dennis.

Kind regards, Dennis. Dennis, Thanks for your offer, but I'm not overly worried about it yet. Just wondering whether it was a common problem or something more serious. Did the Robe still work? and I am assuming it is difficult to strip the pan module down? Do you think it will continue to function with this issue? Thanks a lotNick A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. Hi Nick Can you be a bit more specific about this "rocking"? Ben If you imagine looking at the robe side on. left arm - head - right arm ========BASE======== The rocking movement is between the yoke and the base from side to side. However, I cannot see where it may have come loose. Unless it is indeed inside the pan module. Nick
RobOwen
I'm not overly worried about it yet. Well...as long as its not above someones' head! As has been suggested, the bolts that hold the yoke to the base have probably come loose. These go straight the small cylinder between the yoke and the base. You normally have to take the metal(?) panel (which involves taking off other covers) off the yoke (the bit the head narrowly misses when it's at half tilt) to gain access to them. You will probably end up ripping the pan belt up if left, and possibly the encoder wheel if the belt looses tension and gets caught in it. Basically, its not a problem to ignore. Hence, why I'm posting on here. The reason why I am not overly worried atm, it because when being used, and when not moving, the yoke is properly balanced on its own. The extra rocking movement does not effect operation or motor balancing when in use (and when not in use)
KevinE
I've also had it with the 250XT. If neglected, it will work so loose that the yoke will eventually score a track in the plastic base cover...though you would have to be quite wreckless to let it get this far. LampieManPro
Common fault as mentioned, its not that hard to fix takes about half hour. The common cause of this is people not securing the head whislt in transit, and vibration causes the bolts to work loose. Also can be caused by lifting incorrectly from a flight case, over time they work loose. 4 little black hex bolts is all you need to tighten. Yah, this one doesnt actually have a flightcase or anything, so when it is in transit (which isnt much), it isnt secured. But this is the only 1 of this kind we hav....all the others are flight cased in pairs. I'll see what I can reach and tighten! ThanksNick
