sparky14
HiI have been getting trained up working as a casual for a few months now, I feel confident in what I do,and I know that I'd like to become a sparks, but im thinking I should do a btec course in Technical theatre, so I am well rounded in sound, stage, set etc aswell so I am not always stuck to lights.I also figure, a qualification will always help in trying to get jobs, even though I'd much prefere to do the c&g 1810 and start working full timeBut, I'm finding it quite tricky to find courses and I was wondering if anyone could help me!!im looking for a Btec course around London and south east, preferably south london.Does anyone know of any good courses? Thank you!!
paulears
Many of the bigger colleges who run BTECs do the course. I suspect you are not putting the right words into Google, as the course is actually titled "Production Arts". Stickingbtec production arts south london into Google brings up rather a lot. Once you see where they are, then you need to talk to them, as the variety of what they do is pretty varied. You could find Lighting and Sound as the components, but they could be doing prosthetic makeup and unusual stuff like that. Some from next year could even be doing stuff with Arkaos, Hippotisers and projected graphics - so a phone call makes sense.
