tokm
Hi, As the topic title says.. Tourmate Multilock, any tips on getting them apart? Specifically the male/pins ones? Just got off the phone from someone who's knocking together a load of soca cables for me, the connectors were bought 2nd hand. Now, I know they work by the front end unscrewing (oppositely to normal) from the shell. But apparently they're just not coming apart, even with the aid of various tools. The female ones come apart easily, but the male ones are putting up a hell of a fight. I'm thinking, could there be some hidden grub screws that stop you from easily unscrewing the back shell? Or are they known for being stupidly tight? My last idea for the day's been for him to find a panel mount female, stick it the bench vice, connect the male soca plug to it and to attempt to twist the male backshell off with some plumbers plyers or similar.. HELP! Tom
Oovis
There are no grub screws in the ones I have here. Try some penetrating oil to start with, then a twist while plugged into a female connector should do it.

Funnily enough the guy making the soca's up tried that very same idea after I got off the phone. Can't believe we didn't think of it.. Thanks again.
