Hi Peeps,

Ive contacted CP to no avail, but I wondered if any of you guys / gals have any experience of changing gobos in the stage light 300 fixture. Ive removed the top and bottom casing , but there dosent seem to be any easy way of getting onto the gobo wheel to swap out gobos - without seemingly having to remove some of the modules.

Is there a sneaky trick im missing somewhere?

Nope no tricks missed here. The clay paky stage light 300 does not have the option to change gobos.

According to the manual, link you can. The manual doesn't seem to tell you how to get easy access to the colour wheel though. pg15 diag. 17

Hey

You can change the GOBOs but unfortunately there is no easy way to do it, it sounds liek your already thinking of taking the module out and that is just what you need to do, its all a bit to tight to do it properly without stripping it.

Not the best unit to change GOBOs in but when you do its a good chance to give the unit a proper clean at the same time

Erm , yes it does!!! Thats why I have a pile of gobos for the fixtures.!!

A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on.

Right. ok.

Thanks ben and dave for the helpfull comments!! I didnt really want to have to spend the time to strip the thing but I guess thats the only route forward.

Sigh..

If you turn the gobo wheel until the gobo you wish to change is visible at the side of the unit it is quite a simple job to change

first if you can find someone with nails you can ping the retaining ring out I have tried screwdrivers and knifes but the human nail seems the best

then if you rap one fingertip in some LX tape sticky side out you can use this to remove the gobo

the new gobo and the retaining ring can be slotted into place by hand

I hope this helps

Phil

Ps you will still get no light out of them!! ;)

Thanks.

Yes, "that method" works for a lot of the Martin gear (apart from the smartMAC which is just pure bliss to change easily!!).

I will try that way when I get the heads down on ...... thursday this week. I have to swap out and replace with custom glass gobos. As my fingernails = zero and anybody who does have them would just get perplexed by the task im gonna source a long pair of v thin pliers and screwdriver.

Hey - the light outputs not that bad!!! Ok sure , if you have a dark colour selected yes, its a bit dim , but I think ther're not too bad ether O/W or with c/c filter. The beams can still cut through the rest of the generics. ( I guess its how well they are cleaned regually hmm?!!!)
