gyro_gearloose Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Well I did find this in the manual : Master/Slave operationThe master/slave operation enables several devices can be synchronized and controlled by one masterdevice. On the rear panel of the LED Parbar you can find an XLR-jack and an XLR-plug, which can be used for connectingseveral devices.Choose the device which is to control the effects. Connect the OUT jack with the IN-plug of the next device. Set theMaster device to SOUND mode and set each Slave device to the same DMX address. Have you tried setting both units DMX address to 512 and then doing this (copied from the manual): Set the master unit using the mode buttons on the LED Parbar to either auto or snd mode, this will be displayed inthe LED display. Connect a XLR to XLR DMX lead to the DMX output socket on the master unit and connect theother end of the cable to the DMX input on the slave unit. Now using the mode selection buttons on the slave unitselect the display 512, this is DMX mode. After a few seconds the display will default to d1, this is now in slavemode and the units will work together. Both units can now be controlled by the foot controller. Do you also have the foot controller connected? Even if you aren't using it?
royzinrotherham Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Thanks for the info Giro, I will try what you say over the weekend . and no I did not have the foot controll plugged in . Kam have emailed me back to say try switching on both bars at the same time ,wich I also intend to try . I will let you know how I get on . Roy
Hobson Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I have a Parbar and ran into the same problem you are experiencing. The problem is that the Parbar manual is incomplete. Fortunately the Chauvet 4-bar is essentially - if not completely- the same as a Parbar. It's manual is complete. Follow it's instructions and you'll be up and running. http://www.chauvetlighting.com/products/manuals/4BAR_UM.pdf Hobson
Just Some Bloke Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Moderation: There has been some discussion, now hidden, on whether the Kam Parbar is a live music fixture or more suitable for DJs. We prefer to conduct such conversations elsewhere and not within a topic about how equipment works, not about what it is. If you think a post is in the wrong place, please use the 'Report' button. If you want a discussion on something off topic, please start a new thread (either in Lighting or in Issues as appropriate). As someone who owns a Kam Parbar I can confirm that they are extremely useful for lighting anything that takes place in a small space with limited power - maybe a band or duo in a pub, or for taking a TIE show into schools and needing some backlight. For that reason, I, personally, am happy for this topic to be hosted on the Blue Room. The moderators and administrators will, I'm sure, make a decision one way or another.
sonicnrg Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I hope so too, as I've just bought 2 Equinox Megabars for the band I work with.Very similar to KAM's Powerbar LED units. Yet to set them up and try them, I'm not expecting them to be PAR64's, but I'm hoping they get somewhere near to 56's. Earl Grey?
