Selmar Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Hello all. I'm sorry my first post is a plea for help but there are certain concepts I just can't get my head around and I'm hoping someone can explain what to do in simpler terms than the manual.I'm mixing for our local venue ( www.farnsfieldacoustic.com ) and I need to use four aux sends for stage monitors. Does this mean I can't use effects or can I route them elsewhere? I have been looking through the backposts on this Forum and have copied a wonderful step by step explanation of how to use effects but I can't couple that with controlling the stage monitors and the front of house speakers.Since my settings on the desk are a mess what I'd like to do is restore to default settings and build templates (for want of a better word) for solo, duos and bands that I can tweak when necessary. Can anyone spare the time to give me an idiot's guide?Thank you.

Press "Scene" (top left) and load "initial data" will get you back to the start,(you can store your settings in future scenes and name them accordingly) the desk has a total of 8 auxes, so you can send 4 pre fade for monitors and run 4 post fade for effects. If you press patch in the top left, (you will be able to scroll through the different pages using the buttons below the screen) and patch any input, and any output where you want them. (remember to patch your channel inputs from the correct sources and assign them to the stereo bus). Patch say auxes 1234 to omni out 1234 for monitors, patch auxes 5678 to effects in (mono L) 1234. and patch each effects processor outputs to where you want them usually the four stereo returns. The best thing to do is find the time to stick a mic in it and play with it, you'll soon become familiar with it, they are fantastic little mixers. Hope that helps Regards Dom
