Solstace Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Trying to save myself a phone-call here. Looking for a mic for a friend to record speech at her desk into a Mac for a long ongoing project, on the cheap. I've found the mic (as per the title) that I think should do the job - does anyone here happen to know whether it comes with any stand, or stand-mount adaptor? A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. Ah - just seen a copy of the manual. So that's THAT question answered. Anyone know of any alternatives at a similar price point with USB connection that will give good results?
tolley1466 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I believe ART do a mic pre-amp with a USB out. Sorry if its not what you were looking for...Link.

Thanks - nice link but I was looking for something rather more simple for the user to operate than that. Anyways - advice given, I think this thread has outlived its purpose. Thanks for the advice anyway! C
Rob_Beech Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Some of the offerings from thomann are very good. Some have 2 versions, 1 XLR and 1 USB, great value for money I leant one of mine to someone about 4 years ago and never saw it again (not too bothered to be fair) but that was an XLR version. They come with everything you need to plug into a mic stand.
crox Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I was looking at this earlier as I often have to do voice overs for video stuff, but I reckoned that the money might be better spent on an external sound card (for us anyhow) so then we could use it week in week out for media playback.
