Jerome Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Ok, going back a bit now to LSI's article on coldplays tour. I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on what the screens were made from? would it be possible to make your own cheaper version? Jerome
Stee_cri1 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 It was the amazing green hippo hypotizer's HD I think they are truly amazing an a load of projectors The cheaper version is to get a program that can warp the image and project using 4 projectors for each 'side' of the sphere that would work I guess
jimbo_hippo Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Are you refering specificall to the Coldplay spheres Jerome? There were other projections too. The PufferFish PufferSpheres used for display on this tour are a little unusual in that they have a single projector with one lens which distorts the image then Hippotizer has a plug-in which.... erm....undistorts it ** laughs out loud **! You have all the tools you need such as ScreenWarp and other geometric corrections in any product from the Hippotizer Range, even the HippoCritter which lists at well under £4K so it's affordable and a one stop solution for your source. However, your main issue, as already stated, is actually projecting it. We need more info from you to give a better description but one question to start with is, do you need to see the spheres from all around? If not you can simulate similar effects by 'wrapping' front projection around it. James
