jonwing1993
hey there guys I am doing a portfolio for a collage application and am just wondering, whenever I say par 56's should it be in the numbered form like I just did, or should I write the number out so it would be par fifty six. cheers for your help guys. Mr_Jules
Strictly speaking it's neither. It's PAR (Capitals because it's an acronym) although it's also kind of acceptable to use lower case because like Radar it's become a word in its own right. 56 as you wrote it in numbers. However, never use an apostrophe to indicate a plural.

Just Some Bloke
hey there guys I am doing a portfolio for a collage application and am just wondering, whenever I say par 56's should it be in the numbered form like I just did, or should I write the number out so it would be par fifty six. cheers for your help guys. Here's some thoughts for your portfolio: 1. Use capital letters2. Learn to spell the name of the place you're studying ("college")3. Don't use an apostrophe before a plural4. Use a question mark after a question Oh and, yes, use numbers rather than words for lantern names. :D BTW: This thread explains why this is not just us old timers being picky. Mr_Jules
Whilst we're 'being picky' if you "say" PAR 56 you can't tell whether you're using letters or numbers - it's only when you write it!
