VL Lamps And Wholehog strangeness

Hello all. Rather than burden y'all with two threads, I thought I'd ask both my questions in one thread. First the easy one:

Can someone give me a rough guide price for a 120v 1200w GX9.5 lamp like you'd stick in a VL5? I know how much we pay, and frankly, it looks like a lot of money...just wondered what the going rate is.

Now the hard part:

My Wholehog 2 is being odd when saving and loading. It only seems to happen to one particular show, but it will frequently say things like: "Can't save/load (whichever I'm doing at the time) list0.dat" although the patch etc etc all load up fine. I've lost about 20 (!) cuelists though this (thankfully, all old stuff, nothing I use) and I'm getting anxious. I've resaved onto different discs blah blah, but it still does it. Yesterday it refused to save the effects library, which was a little concerning. Saved it on the second attempt in the end. It's running version 1.4 of the software (yes, 1.4!) and is pretty old - I think 1995 or 96.

I'll get onto flying pig too, just wondered if anyone here had the same problems at all.

Thanks all.

from what I remember from my vl5 training (long time ago and its late), the lamps are specially made with the fillaments further apart than standard to stop them touching when the light spins, so made in small number therefore stupidly expensive

Not come across that problem But V1.4 is very old. we are up to V3.2 now. My advice would be upgrade as soon as possible. I seem to remember Hog II did have an issue where it got "backlogged" if you didn't do a blue button reset periodically. might be worth trying this as you are using old software.

Another issue that the Hog II has is the DMX stream 4 flickers when saving. Can be very annoying when your house lights smoke and haze are on stream 4!
