SoLiEn
Hi guys, I went to see Les Mis at queens a day or so ago, and I have a question. the show features what are something like 8 or 10cell batton style lanterns up in the rig, however each cell is very directional, I have done a google search but nothing has really come up to answer my question. does anyone have any info on these lights? Thanks in advance Dan
johnhuson
I believe what you're looking for is a DHA Digital Light Curtain. The original London production certainly used them and I would imagine the current one still does as there is very little else (nothing) on the market that has the same effect. They certainly match your description. Really nice effect but from my one and only experience with them many years ago they were temperamental at best! Not sure if they're improved over the years. LXbydesign
The first generation DLC's were a pain when you had to run them independantly with their own software, but now the fully DMX versions, ive never had any problems with. The only exception to that are the scrollers - which, of course behave irratically as do most scrollers now and then.
