Multi purpose road trunks

Hi,

I’m looking around at the multipurpose type road trunks for touring (cable trunk with movable partitions). What is the most friendly/popular length, width and height (external dimensions) to fit truck packs with other standard flight cases nicely?

Thanks

any good flight case maker will be able to help. what part of the world are you in as this help us when making suggestions. in the UK most cases are made to order so you just let them know what it needs they send you a plan to aggree and tey make it to the plan.

Or like the Eurotrucker, the transflex from Amptown.

As for sizes the 2 common sizes I've come across are 2ft x 4ft and 2ft x 2.5/3ft (Mac 250 sized).

2ft obviously being important as trucks are 8ft wide, so you fit 4 across. Sprinters/transits are slightly narrow at the bottom, however the citroen's etc are 6ft, so you can go 3 cases wide.

Edit: I can't spell Citroen.

Another vote for Eurotrucker cases. We're big fans of 5 Star. Their service is spot on and you'll find their products all over the world. They don't mess about with pricing either, they tend to have a trade price that is very competitive without having to negotiate for weeks.

Can't speak highly enough of Amptowns Transflex 2 cases. We have mostly the 1200 by 600 (I think that's right, 4' by 2') and they fit nicely 4 across in a 18T truck or 3 across in the van. Some of the cases are getting on for 6 years old now and apart from the odd less springy handle they are holding up very well.

Amptown will also screen print the case with your logo which I think is much nicer than just spraying over the top and watching it get scratched off after three months.

Packhorse are just as good in my opinion but we have always bought German!

Another vote for the 5star Eurotrucker cases.. I've got a few for moving cable & random small flight cases, the oldest is 3 years and while it/none of them have ever been really beaten up that much or dropped off the back of a truck.. they've all been loaded and tipped countless times and seem to have stood up well and still look new-ish!

First saw them in use years ago from the hire co I use for sub-hiring kit off. Some of there's must be knocking on for 10years and still in great shape (at least all the ones I've had off them and the stacks of them I've seen at they're warehouse are.., maybe they hid all ones that were falling apart ).

So yeah, these cases definitely get my thumbs up from me and seem to be the general popular choice!
