Jammie300
Hello Guys, I'm in need of your help. I have a Soundcraft EPM 6 Mixer that has a fault with it. It powers on fine and all the LEDs come on fine. You then plug an XLR device or Line Device in and get no signal out of the mixer. Also to note Phantom Power does not seem to work either. The +48V LED does not light and I do not get +48V at the XLR sockets on the mixer Inserts work fine and so does the EQ and AUXes. The stereo input line channels work fine PFL only works on insert and on stereo. Any Ideas Guys Cheers James
JakeCTG
Hello Guys, You then plug an XLR device or Line Device in and get no signal out of the mixer. Also to note Phantom Power does not seem to work either. The +48V LED does not light and I do not get +48V at the XLR sockets on the mixer Do you mean that when you bring the faders up you can see the level metering but can't hear anything from the output's? Also have you had the mixer working or is it like this out of the box?
Jammie300
There is no response at all from the faders no metering. but there is metering on PFL and Insert and on the stereo channels. I have never had the mixer working myself but it was given to me to have a look at. James
Jammie300
I have had another look at the mixer and tried all I can think of. Do you think I should ring Soundcraft at all? Any Ideas Guys? James
david.elsbury
Yes, of course you should ring Soundcraft! You may need to have it taken to one of their techs to have it looked at by someone familar with the mixer, or you may be able to obtain a circuit diagram/ service manual from them. Edit: It's incredibly hard to offer advice on the problems of a mixer, over the internet (IE, when we're not in front of it to see what's going wrong with it...) graemeftv
almost certianly the power supply card is faulty, soundcraft dont have any in stock until april 2009 cost £50 and most likely that the ne55332 main op amp chips are burnt out by the sound of it. you will prob end up putting in the bin, as beond repair. soundcraft are helpfull so call them, they will prob not repair it, as too expenive to even open the thing up. new epm 6 mixers are £138! graeme
