pattonaudio
Guys looking for a budget 2nd hand FX unit. The max budget is £60 so I know I ain't gonna have great unit with loads of options and features, but I guess I will have to live with that! just looking for peoples views on sound and use of the units below, I have only ever used the Behringer and Alesis and they were just ok, you get what you pay for I know but the band that approched me only wanna spend this amount. Options I have in mind are Zoom RFX1000Behringer DSP2024PDigitech studio quad 4 mulit fxZoom studio 1204Sony R7Alesis Midiverb III any and all views welcome
ian.michael.williams
Have used both Alesis Midiverb and Sony R7 myself. If reverb is all your needing, the R7 is the way to go I feel!
lostinvegas
I have used the Beringer. It does quite a lot, I did not like the user interface much but once you get the hang of it you can do quite a lot. The tap delay is poor but it does a job. There are loads of options but IMO the reverbs don't sound great, they sound like the built in FX's in a Behringer desk. But for £60 (if you can get one for that money) you do get good value for money and the unit will probably do more than the other ones listed. If it was my money I would probably go for this option. I have not used the Zoom or Digitech but have had gear from both companies die unexpectedly during use. Having said that they were not those particular units and we are talking a number of years ago. I used the Alesis Midiverb and Quadraverb many years ago and they were fine at the time, in fact I quite liked them but that was before I had used Yamaha, TC or Lexicon units. I used a Midiverb at a festival in the summer and hated it as I could not remember how the user interface worked, my baby sitter had never used it either this was after he had proudly told me there was no Behringer in the rack? we got by but it did not sound great, mind you neither did the whole PA rig so I guess it might not have been a fair test. Ive never used the Sony. These are just my opinions your best bet is to try them out if you can. Chris

Rob_Beech
I owned a Behringer FX unit some time ago, the 2024. More than adequate for its price. I sold it maybe 2 years ago for around half your budget (though it was a bargain) so finding one shouldn't be a problem. A LITTLE bit noisy, but it's budget, you get what you pay for. Hugh
You could get a second hand Yamaha spx 90 for that price- not fabulous reverbs but well usable with a bit of eq and good feture set. These were once on every rider. I was going to e-bay one next week contact me if you are interested.
