tom_the_LD
Hi guys, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATI-RADEON-9200-PCI-...A1%7C240%3A1318 There is a PCI Low Profile graphics card - Having no personal experience on the 300 I can't say it will work 100%, but from reading what people have said on here, this appears to fit the bill and also has a ribbon cable like the card Sam is talking about. sus.lighting
So from that I came to the conclusion that a Half size card will work, I am now on the hunt for a bog standard on as the 300 won't be outputting any spectacular graphics any time soon. Price wise under £50Hope this helps. (I will update when I have found a graphics card)Alex. Hi, The Saphire HD 4350 graphics card is a dual head card, but the way its constructed means that the actual card is half height, and changing the rear plates gives you either one or two outputs on half height plates (the DVI connector is on the main board, the second VGA connector is on a ribbon cable so can be removedr completely...) I've got to take photos of my onw later to put it on fleabay, so can put images up later if its of any use... Sam Thanks, how much are these graphics cards and where did you get this one?? Do you now the specs of it so as I might be able to look for something of the same quality and spec?? Thanks Jonny A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. Thanks Tom for the link for the ATI looks pretty good How many graphics cards have you put in your 300/500 consol?? I it worth putting three screens on ours?? tom_the_LD
Sam - The card you have linked to is a PCI-E (PCI Express) graphics card, which is NOT the same as a PCI graphics card. PCI-E cards are much, much newer and the slot they go in is completely different. Tom

sus.lighting
Hi. I have also been looking into this recently, what you need is a Half size PCI graphic card, also called Low Profile Graphics Card. I figured this out by first finding relevant information from a website that I can't remember for the life of me and then before jumping in at the deep end and buying a Half size graphics card that might not of worked.... I opened up the 300 and striped beck the case to try this out, I then removed one of my (3) full size graphics cards from my desktop computer and installed it into the 300 plugged in a screen and restarted it, and after telling the strand 300 what to put on the other screen it worked!. So from that I came to the conclusion that a Half size card will work, I am now on the hunt for a bog standard on as the 300 won't be outputting any spectacular graphics any time soon. Price wise under £50Hope this helps. (I will update when I have found a graphics card)Alex. THANKS for the info we are looking into it at the moment, the users said earlier on that some of there cards do not work will any PCI graphics card work?Is there such thing as a spec too high for the 300, meaning it wouldnt run properly? tom_the_LD
will any PCI graphics card work?No - It has to be a low profile PCI card as an ordinary PCI card is of a different size. As with regards to being too good, I wouldn't have thought so as higher cards can just 'underclock' themselves.
themadhippy
Dont forget the 300 works on dos,so anything that needs exotic drivers to work, wont.
Sam Jelfs
not knowing the 300's inside, I would think something like the following card should work. It doesn't come with a half-height bracket by the looks of it, so you would need one of them as well but shouldnt be too hard to find / make... If I remember correctly, some old Dell computers used half height cards, so if there is a secondhand computer place local to you, it may be worth a look if they have any...
