Stuart91
I'm trying to track down a small TFT screen, which will be getting used beside a lectern. The application has relatively limited budget, the monitor is being added more for convenience's sake than anything else, and it's hard to justify spending much money on it. A quick google around has led me to things like this on eBay but the only ones that I can find seem to come direct from China or Hong Kong. Has anyone had direct experience of these kinds of screens, or can anybody suggest alternatives? I'm looking for anything between 7" and 10", and it has to have a VGA input, ideally XGA resolution. Russ83
The OP stated that this was to go next to a lectern. Is this just going to be used for a prompt or mirroring what is on a projector? If it is the latter then I would suggest that you look out for TFT's that support 1024x768 so that the projection does not look too pixelated. Most small monitors only support 800x600. Just a thought in passing.
KevinE
You usually find that the smaller the screen size (in colour at any rate) the dearer they are. Maplin etc do small colour LCD tv's with a vga input which is considerably cheaper than a dedicated 'small' tft monitor. Picture quality is excellent, we've used these on industrial machines. maplin VGA mini monitor
