stevieboi
Hi All I have a problem with a unique 2 hazer. when running at 100%, after about 3 minutes the air pipe bursts off the compressor. before this happens I can see fluid in the air line section. When run at our usual 20%, it doesn't produce 20%'s worth of haze. Ive tried cleaning it, and at white lights suggestion running de-ionised water through it, to no avail. Any Suggestions? niclights
I've had the same problem in the past. Sounds like heater is blocked. White Light had to replace.
stevieboi
any other thoughts? what was the cost to replace the heating parts?
niclights
Unfortunately not. Pipe coming off is almost certainly due to high pressure caused when pump tries to run at full but the fluid can't get through. Poor output at 20% adds to the evidence. I can't think of any other reason. Maybe someone else will have other suggestions for flushing, but I wouldn't be too hopeful. I'm fairly sure it was replaced under warranty but expect around £150-£200.
son of lx dad
Heater blockage probably caused by not fully running the cleaning cycle. Get a new one from White Light, the actual swop out is fairly simple.
niclights
There is no cleaning cycle. There is merely a fan run-on system to cool the heater.
Russ83
There is no cleaning cycle. There is merely a fan run-on system to cool the heater. As Nic has said there is no 'cleaning cycle' however the manual does imply that letting the cooling process complete will remove any fluid that remains in the vapouriser.Note: Please make sure that the Unique2 will not be disconnected too early to allow the fan to run until the device has cooled down. This will ensure that no fluid remains in the vaporizer to come out as droplets when the device is switched on next time.
stevieboi
the hazer is run anything from 15mins to half an hour after the show finishes to allow for a cool down period.
niclights
My unit was also always shut down properly. Required time is quite short for mk2 - around 5mins, unlike the mk1! Correct fluid and flushing on advice of WL/AC. No explanation for failure. I suspected faulty from new.
Rob
I'm looking at buying a water based hazer in addition to the DF50 I've already got. I've used the Uniques a few times on long tours and on one-off events and not been terribly impressed with their reliability. Most of the ones I've come across have had a tendency to stop working regularly. Has anyone else who's had them for a while had any similar issues? SoLiEn
We have a unique 2 at work which got blocked last year becasue people just unplugged it after using it, didnt let it purge/cool down since it was fixed, its been a dream. lovely little machine. fantastic. also, use the proper UNIQUE fluid with it. It ran 5 hours a day over panto, 43 shows with NO problems at all. got it out last week after a month or two with no use, worked first time perfectly again.
