Andrew C
Girls AloudHardly likely to be on a budget are they? However the OP really does need to give us more info. If you are thinking of buying, have a read of the current thread on the OFCOM sell off of the current bit of the radio spectrum that the mics will use. You could easily be looking at replacing them within 3/4 years.
dunk_1984
And obviously if hire, a location would be good.

Any suggestions? as yo're on a tight budget - do they all have to be cordless? if you're buying you also need to look at licensing to operate within the UHF regulated spectrum. xyz
They are a Girls tribute band, yes they want them ALL to be radio mics and yes they want to buy! A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. And when I say tight budget I just mean best value for money!
ChazHS
JTS are alright for the money, although the capsules arn't THAT good. It depends entrely on their usage. Are you going to be taking them to different venues? (I assume you are) which means that you're going to have a frequency changing requirement. Which unfortunatly removes a lot of the budget budget options. I'd say the cheapest you're going to get for a decent radio mic with a decent capsule is going to be roughly £350-£400. I'll have a look about for you.

ChazHS
I take the original money back, £195.00 will get you a reasonable mic with selectable frequencies. See here. If you want a better capsule (i.e. SM-58/Beta 58) then see here and here (respectively).
sleah
You could do worse than Trantec. They do a 'racked'n'ready' system, although in multiples of 4 You could by 4 + 1 I suppose. They are they same radio parts that Sennheiser use in the Freeport system, except swichable between 16 channels. Linky to CPC who sell them :PLinky to the single version I bought the 8way lapel system and have been more than happy with them :)
Chris Beesley
Trantec's Racked N Ready systems can be supplied in 5-channel configuration. PM me or any other Trantec dealer for details etc.

Plus They can be rackmounted by various means if required ..The Girls Aloud Tribute act are called "Girls Alouder" http://www.dansatak.com/artiste.asp?StageN...loud%20Tribute) Matt
Bobbsy
You really DO need to read the link that Andrew C. provided and that I'll repeat HERE. This is a very bad time to be buying radio mics because, almost certainly, anything you buy today will be illegal to use (and subject to interference) in about 3 years. Unless you need to use them lots over the next few years, then rent. Bob
soundgeek
You DEFINATELY want a Sennheiser Evolution system no doubt about it. The 135s would be a good start at about £200 trans/receiver but if you can go up to the E500s (I can get for about £600 per set) then do. They sound amazing - amazing feedback rejection too. Have a look at any big concert at all and they will almost certainly be on Sennheiser Evolutions. Its worth paying for mics - don't get some cheap RMS - you will regret it (like I have too many times!)
