Gerry
Any differences, beside price, in 10 out of 10 filters and Lee filters?CheersGerry
jonathanhill
Probably not. Could you post a link for comparison. Lee take their filter making very seriously and therefore batches of filter are as close a match as is possible. That may be what you pay for. dunk_1984
Put simply: No. It is LEE from either of them, it just has LEE printed on it if you get it direct.
Paul Joines
pretty sure 10 out of 10 are only suppliers. Lee are most widely used in 'local' stuff, Rosco are the 'premium' manufacturers. I dont think you can buy direct from Lee can you?

Andyb
Lee and Rosco are the two main manufacturers of filter. There are others. As 10 out of 10 are also selling rosco and lee, I would suggest there 'own brand' is a cheaper product made by another manufacturer, eg Chris James. The Lee numbering has become the standard index though. Deep colours are the only area where you are likly to notice any significant difference between brands, and both Lee and Rosco have more expensive products (HT & Super Gel) for these applications. Cheaper brands tend to burn / fade out and become crispy sooner. Having evaluated many options, we now stock a very large range of Rosco E Colour at Enlightened Lighting. Rosco and Lee have put there prices up recently, so some suppliers may be passing it on soon.
