dannyboi
Hi there guys, I was just wondering if there was a screen for a projector that could be transparent when nothing was projected on it (by being light behind or something similar) and when projected on it would be opaque. Does anyone no of anything like this, I’m sure I have seen it somewhere? Thanks,Dan
sleah
I suspect a gauze is about as close as you can get. When lit from behind it will be see-through, but not transparent.Although when projected on, it won't give you as good an image as a solid surface.I'm sure the more experienced members will add to this

africandrifter
another screen.... again VERY expensive but unbelievable. using footage with a black background can make the image seem holographic. check out the screen here http://www.musion.co.uk/
Gilberttr
You can get liquid or fog screens, again pricey, but when they are not in use you can turn the water/fog supply of making it look like there is no screen. timperrett
Following on from the suggestion of the gauze...Sven & Finn used a gauze on Complicite's 'A Disappearing Number' which worked quite well. It was black, and had a black and white image onto it which looked really effective. The LD then brought up lights behind it as the image faded to transition smoothly into the next section, the gauze then flew out. Obviously it depends what you want to use a 'transparent screen' for...
