tom_the_LD
Hey guys, So dad bought a projector home from work a while back becuase it's busticated. It projects the image of the computer, but not properly - all the colours are wrong on the projected image. Trying a different cable gives the same issue, except the colours are wrong in a difference way. First time everyting was all blue and horrible, the second time everything was much greener and horrible. Apparently they've tried loads of other cables at work. Does it sound like the bulb or could it be one of those 3 RGB filters inside the projector has been knocked out or summat? I'm not sure if this is possible but it does get moved a lot! It's this projector here - http://www.infocus.com/support/Products/Pr...tors/LP120.aspx I've tried both a factory reset and a bulb reset and nothing has made any difference. Any ideas? Cheers! jason5d
I'd say it's toast and not worth fixing, when you can get good used projectorsoff ebay for less than £200. A fix willcost a fair bit more than that as it lookslike an lcd problem.
adamcoppard
I was going to suggest fiddling with the RGB sliders in the projector menu but the factory reset should have solved that. Is this isolated to one PC, or many?
alexl123
I Have experienced a similar problem like this before but the problem was in the VGA cable. Maybe the Socket on the projector has broken - dry solder, contacts etc. Maybe worth a look Alex Also have you tried using the Svideo port with either a pc, playstation etc incase there is something wrong with the PC /HDMI socket. tom_the_LD
I shall try S-Video now. Adam, it happens on every PC. Just had someone else say that they think it may be the DLP chip is knackered. Does this sound like the case to you guys? Tom
david.elsbury
You know Tom, it's ever so hard to try and troubleshoot/ fault find a projector that's not in front of us, over the internet, when the person diagnosing it isn't totally familar with how it works or what exactly is wrong... Ian der Laan
If he knew ‘exactly’ what was wrong, I doubt he'd be asking people to troubleshoot/fault find.
David Lee
What does the projectors menu look like? As in, does it display the fault as well.

As in, does it display the fault as well.Looks like it when comparing to the manual and from what we can both remember, but nowhere near as badly as the main projecter computer image!
