jonathanhill Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I am one of the Production Electricians for the forthcoming UK tour of 'Singin' in the Rain'. I am currently looking for some old lighting equipment for use as practicals and was wondering if anyone out there has anything to offer. Old lanterns of the types like Strand 243, Strand 743, Berkeley Colortran, Mole-Richardson etc would be great. Also, I am hunting for old lighting stands, preferably wheeled. If you have anything please email me at singinintherainlxdept@yahoo.co.uk and I would greatly appreciate it if you could include a photo of the item for approval by the creative team. Many thanks Jonathan Hillf w enterprises limited

jonathanhill Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 Just to confirm, this is a UK tour, and the kit needs to be for purchase not hire.
gareth Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Just to confirm, this is a UK tour, and the kit needs to be for purchase not hire.Which is why I posted a link to the ad for some old gear that we might be looking to sell ... :P
neilalexrose Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Mr Hill SOunds like it might be a good thing I escaped that tour! Try giving malvern a ring, the've got allsorts lying around, though I have a feeling most of it went to the local amateurs. Also RB lighting does spares for old stuff, they might be able to source some actual units for you! Enjoy the tour! Neil
Dmills Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Bob at Lancelyn on the wirral was trying to shift some old strand kit a month or so back, he may be worth a call. Regards, Dan.
