alex_hughes
Hi all, You know that microphone the Royal Opera House has hanging at the front of it's stage which looks like a banana with a mic on each end? Does anyone know who makes them? Are they any good? I've googled a few things but short of calling the ROH I don't actually know who else to ask!!! please help!!! alex_hughes
I can only find their Box Office no. as their website appears to be down, and I don't want to bother one of their box office team with questions about mics.

tall_phill
Did it look anything like the Schoeps ORTF Microphone? Its the only microphone I can think of that resembles a banana. http://www.schoeps.de/E-2004/ortf-stereo.html#mstc64
soundgeek
Im pretty sure they just had a suspended stereo pair in an XY position hanging. I have to admit I didn't look for that long but im pretty sure it was a stereo pair and then further back there are two omnis hanging down.
