Tom Baldwin
I'm looking to hire a GSX (with Kaleidoscope S/W) from somewhere reasonably local to Fleet, Hants near the end of June, but am having a bit of difficulty finding a supplier. Any thoughts? I know the GSX is old, and there are better things out there now, but I really don't have much budget, and as a GSX does everything I need for this show (run a single pretty sane stack of generics, plus a few scrollers, in a properly cued theatrical environment), it would seem daft to spend more. Obviously a 300 would do the job (as would probably an Express? - never used one) - but I figure the GSX has to be cheaper. I need at least the 50 channel version. Thanks! andystone
You could try Henley Theatre Services, not too far from you, I think they have ETC desks. More info at www.henleytheatre.com
Stu
As a last resort CPS in Bournemouth have one, but I can't remember what channel version it is. Their phone number is (01202) 572000 - just in case you can't get hold of anything closer to home! HTHStu

Tom Baldwin
Thank you to all the people who replied. I've now sourced 19 GSXs, which will be linked together using MSC, so as to enable me to control the 147 VL3000s I had to hire to justify having that many GSXs around.... Hang on, I think I may have made some of that last bit up, but I am now well and truly sorted for GSX hire - I had no idea there were so many out there! Once again, the Blue Room shows what a great community it is. Cheers guys!

colinmonk
The golf ball ( which actually looks exactly like a blue golf ball stuck in the desk ) only operates in an upwards/downwards motion IIRC, and is used to raise or lower intensity attributes of channels. As Gareth guessed (thankyou), I was indeed suggesting that the gsx ball doesnt glow in the way that a vector or hogIII's blue balls glow ( ooo suit you sir :P )
