Elysium
Has anyone here heard or used the Wharfedale EVP-X18B subs? I'm looking for a pair of subs for upto £800 for the pair. Thats my maximum budget. I saw the wharfedale EVP-X18B subs and thought they looked fairly nice, and plus they go down to about 38hz too. I play drum & bass at my parties and we have a few other dj's playing techno and trance. Anyway, what do you guys think would be best for £800 a pair if you haven't heard the Wharfedale subs? :) :P :P B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) B-)
tolley1466
I've used the 15" versions before and they sound great! Played a bit of Drum n' Bass through them too (High Contrast) and that gave amazing results! (That was to test the rig)Used mostly for Jazz funk fusion band. I was impressed obviously the 18" versions will have more depth but I've also used the 15" ones at 200 seat concert and they were powerful enough for that too. Track21
I'm not sure if you can get the EVP 18" subs in the UK? I remember looking for some a couple of months ago but couldn't get hold of any! I had a look at the 15"s but wasn't that impressed with them. They seem to push a lot of air but don't really produce much sub! I went for a pair of the 15" titan active Wharfedale subs. They are great for the money, and produce a much clearer bass sound. Check them out! http://wharfedalepro.com.dnnmax.com/Home/P...82/Default.aspx
Elysium
I'm not a great lover of bandpass subs. I prefer the sound of a reflex front loaded sub. Thanks though. You can definately get the EVP-X18B subs in the uk, wharfedale is a british company. They're available here : Sounds Live.co.uk DJ Kit.co.uk. Pro Sound-DJ.com Plus many more places. What other 18" subs (I like the extra depth) do you think are good for £800 a pair then guys?
Track21
Your right sorry, it was the powered EVP 18" I couldn't find! The EVP-X18PB. I tried everywhere, even phoned up Wharfedale but they said it was only available in the US?! Strange I know!
Elysium
What do you think would give out more bass out of 4 Wharfedale EVP-X18 reflkex subs or a single Cerwin Vega AB36 horn sub? The way I figure it is, I can afford a maximum of £800, and the AB36 horn sub is £
