dbuckley
Is there someone with this sort of setup using ethernet TCP/IP connectivity ready to go that could try something for me please? It'll only take 5 minutes. Thanks.

dbuckley
Brill, Thanks The question is.... if you change the direct out patching using the manager rather than on the desk, Window / patch editor / direct out, I think, does that cause any distubances or clicks through the source channels or on the desk main outs? I dont think it will, but digital desks are funny beasts, and stuff happens when one changes things that aren't nornmally intended to be changed mid-show. Grum
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I got back to work and the LS9 had gone!!! Its ok though, turned out it had been borrowed for a "personal hire". I tried it out yesterday and couldn't notice anything. Hope this helps. Lamplighter
DavidSomewhat late but I can confirm that switching the Direct Out to and from an active channel doesn't affect that channel. It appears to be properly "buffered" within the DSP.Brian
RustyBrooks
Its all snapshotable, so, as long as you're not running stuff through it, or sourcing from the other side to a live input, when you change the patch, all will be fine. Occasionnally repatch outputs on the fly on the smaller desk for theatre work when need to send to different areas for different scenes and theres not enough software outputs on the desk to do it all, or need to send a differnt feed to the same output but want to source it from somwhere else... hard to explain, but in essence, no bngs and pops! dbuckley
Thanks all. This is for an application where repatching of inputs to direct outputs will happen all the time, commanded through the ethernet port, so not disturbing the rest of the mixer is relly quite important. So, has anyone got an LS9 next to a braodband internet port and wouldn't mind leving it connected overnight? Bribe is a bit of software free  Only I'm not saying what it does... yet!
