ChazHS
Hi guys, Im new(ish) to whats what in video, I set up projectors and displays but know very little about branding apart from Sanyo being good for projectors and BenQ being awful ** laughs out loud **. What Id like to know is, whats the best (small scale semi-pro) projector for general hire use? Nothing with changable lenses which is hideously expensive, lets say up to £1000. Cheers
David Lee
You mean low end stuff- any of the usual suspects, Sanyo or NEC probably being the most likely. For general hire use you do want to change lenses as you never know the throw distance.

David Lee
TBH I have no idea. You really are in the desktop/ board room projector territory. You could probably get good deals down at Staples etc...

The reason being Id never hire out a hugely expensive multi-lens projector enough for it to be worthwhile to have, smaller projectors for basic visuals in nightclubs I have a market for however. lx999
I just bought a projector for one of the companies I work for, this mob seem to be pretty good (and there is quite a lot of information on the website): http://www.projectorpoint.co.uk/index.htm At the risk of sounding like a BR pedant, google is your friend! As a lampy who occasionally ventures into this area, I'd suggest that you consider the cost of replacement lamps for your projector, these can often cost a huge proportion of the original purchase price, and they're all different. good luck FJS
Andrew C
There is an advantage in going for DLP in this case as the optical chain is sealed. Less dust and crud to degrade the image.
Russ83
The company we use is Just Projectors. They have quite a range of desktop/education projectors and seem to be able to get hold of most lamps for older projectors.
