Panasonic AW-E350 Convertible Camera Repair?

Hi everyone!

One of my cameras (make/model in title) has gone dark for no apparent reason. It still gives a video output from its on-screen display, so my guess it's a CCD-related issue rather than an output circuit failure. I've tried a different camera unit on the same control, power and video cabling as the failed camera - the replacement unit worked, so at least I know the cabling and control are okay.

So this "advanced" problem-solving leads me to think that I should send the failed unit off for repair, given that a replacement comes in at around £3000!

Can anyone here think of a repair centre (Panasonic-approved) based in Central London?

I've had no luck with Google or Panasonic's email or telephone support, so thought to try here...

Thanks!

It was precisely that finder I was fighting with, as well as Panasonic's staff. Both have proved similarly clueless - this is "Pro" kit that falls somewhere between Cameras, CCTV and Security.

Is there a Panasonic "Pro" site or dealer in the UK I can refer to?

Looking at the pictures of it on the Panasonic site, its not a traditional camcorder as such, more a pro CCTV type unit I'd guess, presumably you are able to switch the OSD out to line effectively to configure it. I assume you've tried the obvious things like iris and black level controls and whatever else it offers you. Also I guess on something like that a factory reset if it offers one might be worth a shot, as it could be quite expensive to send for repair if its just got confused and gone into manual iris or something. As a really random thing, you could try pointing an IR remote control at it (especially if its got a partner that is working you could test this functionality on), it probably wouldn't prove much, but for a few minutes work it could help diagnosing things.

'Lo!

Thanks for the info guys.

Note to self: Google is a good tool, provided one feeds it with the right text to search on. My sanity failed me in that I should have remembered to use the word "broadcast" in my search string... Otherwise I just got a load of consumer AV dealers that would have been about as much use as chocolate teapot.

Think I'll go get some quotes now I know what "terms" I need to use!

Thanks again!
