MagicQ Visualiser

Don't understand the question. MagicQ PC is a piece of lighting control software. As far as I can tell from a quick Google, Sunlite Magic 3D is also a piece of lighting control software. In what way do you want to use them together?

Assuming this description of Magic3D is accurate, then you just set the output mode in MagicQ for the universes you want to visualise to ArtNet.

From the auction, it looks like you probably need to pay for the dongle (apparently "2D views" are an advanced feature... do you only get 1D for free?!)

Better to link to a page, not the executable: http://www.nicolaudie.com/main.php?id_page=3

In Ethernet mode (Art-Net, SandNet) the interface becomes the key (dongle) to access advanced features such as 2D views, fire plans, video...

Presumably you'd connect MagicQ offline via Artnet and therefore not need any interface, unless there was a feature you needed unlocking. By '2D' I would imagine it means lighting plot.

Ok, it doesn't work it runs in demo mode unless it started from freestlyer (which takes over control) so I wonder if they have a hack dongle runing from there software?

also any suggestions on a free visualizer that works with magicQ (it would be nice to have one that works local and over network), also I must allow you to make your own setup no just load pre-made ones.

thanks

I really do not understand why people think Sunlight software is better than Daslight, I am probably biased but I run daslight in many venues and everybody loves the fact that it is so easy to use, and comes with a really good 3D visualiser.

I have even removed sunlight at one venue and replaced it with daslight, the band , the owner loves it, soooo easy , to program and to use.

The only downside to daslight is the forum is not responded to very often, but as a product I really think many of you should take a fresh look at it.

The demo version of ESP Vision will allow you to create your own model limited to one universe and 100 channels.. Except for this limitation it is fully functioning and you could connect with Artnet again.

Assuming you just want to learn the desk then this should be enough and I don't think anyone would consider it unreasonable to do this. You get to know both products and, when money's available, you might spend it with them. The limitation means it is rather too restrictive for any commercial projects.

Remember, however, that you will need either Vectorworks or 3DS Max to create your model.

I think I have 3ds Max as I have a Autodesk Students account, on the other hand downloading it on my dialup is another story.

A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on.

ok, 3ds max isn't included in it!

will Autodesk VIZ or Autodesk AliasStudio work?
