Ben Lawrance
Hi All, I'm more confused now after an hours google'ing than I was when I started. I am after a video capture device for my PC, that uses the firewire port. It needs to have a minimum of composite plus stereo audio. Any recomendations? CheersBen
MarkPAman
I use a video camera for this. I've made it work with both JVC & Canon cameras. IIRC you have to disable computer control of the camera, then it works well.
Nick S
http://desktop.thomsongrassvalley.com/prod...oconversion.php All the way from simple desktop with composite and audio (the ADVC55, ~£150) to the ultra-high end. Also neat in that it'll take PAL/NTSC - it's not fussy. I can highly recommend their equipment, I've used it myself in a show for live video capture over Firewire. It's not the cheapest stuff out there, but it's probably the best.
dunk_1984
Depending on budget a Sony VTR Deck will do what you're after, older units should be available second hand at a reasonable price. Obviously depending on what you are looking to spend dictates reasonable. Also with the VTR you get a tape deck in the format of your choosing if you required. Pete McCrea
As others have said most decent cameras with freeire I/O will stream the av input to the FireWire out. And as mentioned the decent by decks will have FireWire out, but I've no used that method for live capture.
