Kenny
hi allI am currently on my major project at college and involves as lot of use using WYSIWYG. But not going in to my life story I am looking for a WYG-it box to work with WYSIWYG R22 but brand new they cost a lot of money and that kind of money I don't have, so was wondering if anyone new of any places I could get a 2nd hand one from. if you could drop some links or what ever that would be fantastic, thx a lot,Kenny. DonkiDonki
I don't know of any wyg-it 2's going cheap but there are some alternatives for you to consider.(I take it that it is wysiwyg PERFORM that you have access to?) The Enttec USB pro is now supported by wysiwyg, thats about the cheapest way to get a universe of DMX in. You could also consider a DMX-Artnet device although that is likely to cost somewhat more. What lighting console are you using, is that something that could change? Some of the offline versions of desks will connect to wysiwyg. Chamsys MagicQ is particularly easy to run on the same PC as wyg and also happens to be one of the best lighting consoles out there. (In fact if you had a USB pro dongle, you could run wyg and have an output universe of DMX from MagicQ all on the same machine)

paulears
That would be because it is spelt wygalizer, not wigalizer - Google will be your friend once the spelling is sorted!
peternewman
Wygalizer, the misspelling stumped me at first too.

Jaker26
Okay you may find this really stupid but I've never encountered it before seeing as I have only mainly done little projects but what exactly is wysiwyg?
geek3
WYSIWYG=What you see is what you get. I am guessing it is a reference to the lighting software by http://www.castlighting.com correct me if I am wrong.

geek3
this software is really impressive, I've try the demo, Pretty cool, but It doesn't actually control the light does it, only designs right?
niclights
It doesn't control. It is for visualisation to help design and pre-program. It has modelling facilities built-in along with ability to export equipment and DMX channel lists & provide 2D plots. It does accurate still renders although realtime is much more basic. For impressive realtime visualisation see ESP Vision, although this requires external modelling software.

As well as the pretty beam effects of R22 you now get acurate realtime shadows, beam attenuation, variable focus and projected video. It's currently still in beta but it's looking good. fcpatechies
I know there are a few posts about CAD software but I am thinking of purchasing WYSIWYG for the college I work at and I was thinking if someone could please explain the difference between WYSIWYG Design Education Edition and WYSIWYG Learn and how many PC's can either software be installed on. Also once I have bought it, do you have to renew your license with cast lighting like you have to with anti virus/Internet security software e.g. in 12 months time. Thanks for your help in advance FCPA technicians
