Does anyone know what iris would fit a Strand T-Spot2 or if one is available for it?

As I recall the T-spots' gate is the same size as a Prelude gate, and as such an iris for one should fit both.

Unfortunately I don't have ours in front of me at present, and the data sheet from the Strand Archive for the Prelude doesn't say any more than an (defunct code) 18046 18-leaf iris.

 

I suggest you check with one of the hire co's and see what they can offer.

If I remember correctly, then Tony's right - Strand have maintained the same gate size in pretty much all of their profiles since the 263, right up to the SL. So a gobo holder or iris should be freely interchangeable between pretty much any Strand product.

Actually, I think (though not sure) that the SLs are a slightly different gate size...

I'd have to check - but I may be confusing the experience with the S4 gates - which ARE a different size from Strand lanterns...

Source4 gates are definitely a different size (and with the gate aperture at a higher centre) to SLs, etc. But you can trust me on the Strand gate size, Tony - we have SLs, Cantatas and Preludes in our lantern stock, and they all take the same gobo holder (which also used to fit into our retired T-Spots and 264s).

I'll bow to your memory then Gareth. We too have all of those in regular use, but it's just been a while since I've had gobos in both SLs and Preludes!
