Swizzuk
Hi All, I am looking for a Cat Gobo to create a Silhouette of a large dome$tic cat on stage. (M Size) Anyone know if one exists? Cheers (edit: added size)
The Gaffa
What type of lamp are you using?, I've been looking through my Gobo catalogs, and can't find a Cat one. Looks like you may have to get a custom one made.
Krais
I can't see anything either, so perhaps custom is the way to go. I keep considering the "rosco infinity" which would allow you to print your own slides and then slot into a standard lantern. As an amateur group this isn't a unit I've ever used, so perhaps someone with more knowledge could help both Swizzuk and I with comments on the practicality and cost effectivness of this. Thanks! It may well be a cheaper option to hire a Selcon Pacific if you are considering the acetate gobo route, it will probably work out cheaper than the rosco. If I remember the gate on a quartet is the same as a Pat23 but with a recomended 'M' size gobo instead of a 'B'. so you will nned to specify this to the hire Co. I am not sure that the rocso unit would work with a conventional profile, I was under the impression that they were only suitable for coolbeam lanterns, Source 4, SL, Pacifics etc.
The Gaffa
I'd agree with hiring a Selecon Pacific, and making your own gobo.Just remember that you need to use 180micron OHP transparency's, and to adjust any deep colours so that they allow lihgt transmission through. HTH I am not sure what our transparency's are, but I send mine through a colour photocopier/printer because OHP transparency film has a lower melt temperature. For transparency to go through a copier it needs to withstand quite a bit of heat.
