Dave
Hi, I'm wondering if there is a standard for colour coding the H&V syncs in a five wire connection. In my experience the answer is "no" - I've seen black, white, and grey used in every possible combination over the years. But others may know something I don't... Thanks Dave
Johnparrack
usually it goes with the cable order if you hold it flat...rgb hv...various cable manufacturers colour code it differently, as you mention with black, white or grey. I've only come across one cable (type) that has the hv reversed! Its a pain, especially if you've got a large rig with 20 or 30 of the buggers in it! Usually you find yourself reversing the hv colours to find ones faulty anyway..** laughs out loud **I usually try to dig out the same manufacturer from unit boxes I'm supplied to simplify it a tad.. Hope you have as much fun as the rest of us with them!
Pete McCrea
What was worse when we got a bunch of VGA-5BNC adaptors where they decided to reverse the H and V in the moulded breakout.... And they went out on a dry hire first. Much telephone trouble shooting later we worked it out.
mac.calder
Some cables use yellow as well (just for kicks I am sure)
