I feel like a total idiot but it has left me stumped.

I have just recieved a male CEEP socapex plug and need to wire it on to a multicore.

Only problem is, I can't seem to get the blasted thing open.

How does it open up?

It's probably something so simple I'll kick myself when I find out ** laughs out loud **.

The shell unscrews from the pin assembly, thats the simple part........

Problem is you can't hold the pin assembly still because the locking ring spins, so you need either the special spanner to hold the pin assembly, or to have the whole thing plugged into a female chassis connector which is secured to something solid.

We have a pair of male and female chassis connectors screwed to a lump of 4x2 in the workshop for exactly that purpose.

Hello,

My name is Adrian King and I work for C.E.E.P Limited.

I appreciate that it's probably too late to offer my assistance but we have an assembly tool available that will provide you with a simple and effective solution.

The tool required for this particular connector has the part number: SC402530 and costs just £11.00 + VAT.

If you require any further information regarding our range of connectors then please let me know.

Regards,

Adrian.

Hello,

The assembly tool required for the female connectors has the part number SC401530 and again is just £11.00 + VAT

Usually if we have new customers contacting us for a number of connectors, lets say ten sets plus we would throw both assembly tools in free of charge.

The reason for this is that if our connectors aren't assembled correctly I.e the backshell isn't tightly screwed on properly this can cause problems and as a result reflect badly on us.

We have many customers who find our connectors much easier and quicker to assemble than others on the market, if anyone out there is struggling then please get in contact.

Regards,

Adrian.

With my Admin hat on..

The above post would not be classified as 'adverstising' within our T&Cs, it is offering assistance to a user of a product of theirs, which would be of interest to other users on the site.

There is a slight issue with their username, but we will look into that to get it sorted!

Thanks

Richard
