gilkinted
Having found the headphone socket (thanks everyone!) the Spirit Live 4 I sometimes use has decided to produce a nasty hum at sub group and master output stages. It's definitely before the XLR out's as headphones monitor it nicely. Can't hear it on any pfl's though and switching out all inputs doesn't kill it. Before attempting the gargantuan task of opening this baby up has anyone got any ideas i.e. might it be a common fault? Cheers - Allan
johndenim
Any chance it could be an amp? Or powered cabs? I'd rule out every possibility before opening up the desk.have you checked any 'ground lift' switches?
Shez
Is the hum still present when the only things plugged in to the desk are mains power and headphones?
Bobbsy
Noise on the output stages (sometimes a hum, often a "frying bacon" sort of hiss) can be a symptom of drying electrolytics in the power supply. Bob
