simon212
Hello All, I was wondering if any of you have found any particularly interesting training courses, perhaps by manufacturers, distributors, etc? Here's what I've found here at BR: Live Video TrainingandHippoSchoolI've attended one of Extron's courses and learnt a great deal. It was free too!! So, if anyone knows of anything else going on in the UK, please contribute! Simon
Johnparrack
Nope..I usually find that if a piece of kit comes around thats different to the norm or a tad more difficult than just reading the manual, then I pop into one of my clients and use some of my spare time to learn it...That said, I haven't done much since Barco Viewscape. I'm usually happy to learn something on the fly! Its usually a case of just a different menu structure to learn. What sort of level are u as well? If its beginner, then u are best to goto barco and take some of their courses, which I'm sure they still provide. (I went to a Barco 600 course a million years ago...when projectors were a bit more than point and squirt and found it very worthwhile...and a good lunch too!) Well worth it, as they provide alot of high end kit these days from switchers/converters through to projection and Led, so you could cover alot of ground easily. I don't know of too many other manufacturers who do training (from a video perspective) BUt the list is short (Barco, Christie,Panasonic, Digital Projection,Sanyo) perhaps fire off a few emails and see what comes back..or perhaps work for one of the larger suppliers who stock enough of that kind of kit ...Blitz/CT/Xl/Psl etc...you'll find the right sort of training and perhaps a good learning environment. I left Edrics in 1995 thinking I knew it all, and joined Blitz and discovered very quickly how much I didn't know...and to be fair I'm now freelance and still learning as technology changes from analog to digital and data rates that weren't possible now becoming possible and more used (and the cable types changing as more and more bandwidth is required)..and then the Hd learning curve.....
