Ben Couch
Right, we have a design that involves "suspending" a MAC 250 Entour. What we want to know how we can hang it without it swinging, We have the option to hang it off an electric winch bar or RSJ's, and we have a lot of rigging equipment available to us. What are your opinions and ideas on this. Thank You
SoLiEn
when we hang our movers off the counterwieght bars at work, to stop them swinging, for instance we had 7 VL3000's on a bar, we strapped the bar to either side of the fly floor, effectively making it solid and taut so it cannot move. you got any possibility of being able to strap the bar, or is it not feasible? GRisdale
Or go forward in time and by some RSC Lightlocks. Gareth.
Seano
What are your opinions and ideas on this. Are you sure its going to be a problem? (It isn't in the great majority of cases.)
SoLiEn
Or go forward in time and by some RSC Lightlocks. ;) Gareth. Would Love to, but having just spent an undisclosed amount of money on a Haulotte Star10 to replace the tallescope since the ban on movement, we are havin to be a bit careful with expenditure :P... until our next purchase that is :P:D:D
Colin
What do you mean by "suspend"? Something involing scaffolding would be my suggestion. I would probaly use some gravlocks off the RSJ from which I would use hanging clamps with chain or wire rope to attach a drop bar on which the head would sit. Then get a bit of scaff to brace it using 90 degree clamps on the 2 bars. If there is still wobble attach additional scaff to the brace bar using swivel clamps. rowan.b1000
A point to consider is the heavier the bar the less it will swing so you could make it rather heavy?
blackbird
Put a second one upside down on top of the bar you are rigging the first below, patch to the same DMX channel, and locally invert pan and tilt. Should stop your swing significantly. We have used this method to some success previously.
dosxuk
Surely with a winchable bar, this will just rotate the bar round so both are horizontal unless you get them perfectly balanced or find some other method of fixing the bar?
gyro_gearloose
...and it will get expensive having extra movers, and also rather heavy. Bracing the bars is surely the easiest/most cost effective way of solving this problem?
