James C Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 A mate of mine needs to mug up on issues surrounding event management - just to get a flavour of what's involved at this stage. I thought a gander at the pop-code would be a good bet. Does anyone know if it exists in an online form, under another name perhaps? A quick googling failed me...

rowan.b1000 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I know this may be a little late now, but for future reference the HSE now has a free copy of this document you can download online: http://books.hse.gov.uk/hse/public/saleproduct.jsf?catalogueCode=9780717624539
kerry davies Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 "I know this may be a little late now" has just got to be the understatement of the past 7 years. I nominate this as a BR record, any takers? At least you got it in before the rewrite was completed.
Blaize110 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Perhaps we could award the Golden Tombstone for thread necromancy.
landy Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I know this may be a little late now, but for future reference the HSE now has a free copy of this document you can download online: http://books.hse.gov.uk/hse/public/saleproduct.jsf?catalogueCode=9780717624539 I found it useful!! It might have been late for the OP, granted, but prefect timing for me.
rowan.b1000 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I know it was a little late, but I found this thread while looking for the pop code (typed it into google) and I thought other people might benifit as they actually have. But yes if you could please post me the award or let me know when the ceremony is :)
Smiffy Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 excellent bit of proof reading in there... http://www.blue-room.org.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif in big orange letters, top of page 4 Foreward and we complain about the kids getting things wrong. It might not be typo though, although it is circa 1300's English if its correct.
Simon Lewis Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 It might not be typo though, although it is circa 1300's English if its correct. Nothing wrong there... and I still use foreward ;-)An online grammar site states:foreword refers to a preface or an introductory noteForward is an adjective and an adverb with several meanings related to direction.
Smiffy Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 I may be missing your point but foreward doesn't appear to enter into matters on the page you link to. Forward and Foreword do, but no foreward.
Simon Lewis Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 You're right! - I looked at the "e" and was typographically blind to the 'a' and 'o' transposition.... well spotted!
kerry davies Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Simon, the fascinating thing is that the page is cut'n'pasted from the original and some, presumably young, pillock has actively altered it to "Foreward". No wonder there are questions about the UK failing to provide foreign language workers to the EU, we can't even provide English speakers. ;)
