thewhirlwind
Himy top speakers say full range with no subwoofer 55hz full range with subwoofer 110hz I've seen a pair of subs of a different make that either run at 150hz or have a crossover switch at 100hz.would these work with my speakers?presumably the lower the number the lower the sound so if I used the crossover switch on my top speakers and the crossover switch on these subs what would happen to the missing 10hz or if I didn't use the crossover switch on the subs would that affect the sound in that some of the frequencies they would be pttuing out would be the same as the tops?sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question but I'm a bit bamboozled by this! I know that its best to get the matching subs to my tops but that are about £3k each so I'm considering some temporary cheaper alternatives as I've been told that the clarityin bass bins isn't so crucial as in tops. johndenim
Ah Mervaka, always a man of many words. TBH the difference in 100hz and 110 hz is very minimal, you would not notice a missing freq. What subs are they?15" id go for 150hz, 18's maybe 110hz. In any case always use the hpf on the tops.
