dunk
Evening all, Would there be any benefit of upgrading the CPU and/or RAM of the Pearl Expert? When I use it there is often a bit of lag on key press updates on the screen and wondered if upgrading core processing parts of the board would be of benefit. Any thoughts? djandydee
Wait for the new expert software (Titan) released for PLASA and available late Sept early Oct. Up to now the software was effectivly a pearl 2004 simulator running on the internal PC which was very sluggish. The new software is a complete re-write incorporating some of the D4 features. The main changes are new VDU layout, ability to save memories on any of the faders, improved labeling, easy changes to timings and other things I cant remember - Ollie their software writer spoke to me at Plasa...Great bloke
dunk
I didnt realise that the current software on the expert was so crude! Regarding Titan, is it installed on top of XP embedded or is it a totally standalone, dedicated O/S? Thanks Dunc
niclights
Did you not wonder why there was a tiny VDU window identical to that of the old Pearl?! Anyway, yes, is on XP and is fast.
