Does any one out there know where I could buy a second hand case suitable for building a upright touring tool box.

I have seen the ones you can buy for 100's but they are not how I want mine to look and be used, So the only thing I can think of I build my own as I want it and use an old ...........box and alter that

Would this be any good?? (Perhaps a little small, but you never know ...)

I have heard of people buying an old rack case and filling it with rack drawers to make a large tool box. However, rack drawers are very dear (although you sometimes can find used ones eg on ebay).

An alternative would be to get an old rack and make some wooden drawers to go it.

Perhaps you could describe how you want yours to look so we can make enlightened suggestions.

[Thanks for the plug about mine, Gareth!]

ok this is a start of an idea how it will look

from the ground up

space at bottom for my current tool box to fit in (also stop it the case falling over bit of weight at the bottom )

above that a lockable draw

then normal draw

(now WE get clever )

an area that can be pulled out so if I am working as drum tech I can put the drum on a area as its the pits having to kneel on the floor to change skins

or other use

the monitor for my avo can sit in there when I am using my desk with an area for the graphics tablet .

thats the only thoughts I have had so far there will be more ideas but I think these things will come to me the first time I use it on a tour and it is used.

:P
