Nickwoolley
Hi all, Tried to search for something like this, but couldn't find it. Using a pearl 2004 at the moment and trying to get the palettes to work, unfortunately they're not. I am patching the fixtures (mac 500s) in the normal fashion and when it asks me if I want to use the custom palettes I am clicking yes (A button). However, I then select the fixture and press focus and there are no palettes just lots of pages with 'no name' I can go into all of these and then find palettes with 'no name'. I have tried all the button presses a million other ways round and still they just don't seem to be there. Am I missing something really small yet really important!? If anyone could share some light, that would be great, Cheers!
Olie
If you are patching from a compressed cache file or internal cache then that might be the problem. We used to strip out the palettes in the cache file to fit more fixtures in and so when you patch the fixture it will have no preset palettes and you would have to create your own. I am fairly sure that the latest cache files from the Avolites website do have palettes but the best way is to patch from a normal personality disk. tom_the_LD
Another thought - if you are selecting yes to CUSTOM palettes, I believe these are the ones you create yourself. Try clicking no and see if it loads up the preset palettes.
Nickwoolley
Right, I had a bit more of a play and used the fixtures provided on the disk. When ask to use preset palettes I clicked yes ( A Button) patched it as normal. I then select the fixture using the swop button and click on focus. I am presented with a screen that says apply palette in the top left corner. down the right hand side it says 1. Page 1<no name> 2. Page 2<no name> If I click on a page I get: 1. Palete 1<no name> etc etc This is with a mac 300 and a mac 500, each selected at different times ???
niclights
I don't think they set any legends, but they should still be there. 1-10 = colour, 11-20 = gobo, 21-30 = position. Recall either by preset add, numeric or through focus menu & softkeys.

There is no mention of CUSTOM palettes the desk asks if you would like to use preset palette Yes or No, pressing Yes loads the palette information from the personality file I don't think they set any legends, but they should still be there. 1-10 = colour, 11-20 = gobo, 21-30 = position.
